Soooo.......

If you watch the time, he goes past the pit entrance at the 1:52 mark and then again with 11 seconds to go. That makes it a 1:41 second lap time. I have done that in our totally stock Elise. I have also done 1:38's in a 100 horsepower 1700 pound SRF. That Elise is supposedly "only 1700 pounds" and makes supposedly 375 horsepower.

That isn't impressive or fast. Sorry :dunno:

I should probably clarify what I said so it isn't misconstrued. I am not saying I am a great driver, top National finishers have done 1:36's in an SRF on that track. I was simply providing a basis of comparison.

I suspect that You have gone faster than that in your car there Rick as well.

im in no position to criticize, but isn't the guy up and down shifting like a schoolboy? That type of gearchanges should acount for an extra second or two a lap......
Wonder how would my '92 Plymouth Laser perform there :evil_lol:

I wondered about that too. It didn't sound like he was heel-toeing... but then again this is a recording. I'm sure Ryan knows how to heel toe and it's just that the sound is muffled on the video. As for the laptime, I'm not sure how accurate it is. I also don't know what tire they are using. But if I remember correctly, the last time I saw it in person that car had an aftermarket suspension and hoosiers. It might have been cold that day.

I'm not sure if the video is a video of a "hot lap" or not.

Ryan's best lap was 1:38 according to Ryan's Dad: http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47579

Here's 3 consecutive laps at Autobahn South Track from 10-28-2007 demonstrating the potential of the ForcedFed 275. The track is 2.1 miles with 15 turns. The Elise gains on the C6 in 2 laps and passes and at the same time, is keeping pace with the GT3. The Noble is, well, you be the judge!
Our best time that day was 1:38, which is faster than the Elise Cup by several seconds. We're still sorting it out and getting use to it. Faster times next year for sure.

Easy guys! This was only a practice lap and the first day he was in the car. It was in no way a hot lap at speed. I just wanted to post some video as many were requesting. He was more than a little apprehensive about the car because of the rarity, cost, and no roll cage, so he was not pushing it as hard as he could. He saves that for the Diasio (1:23 South track and closed wheel record holder)

I have yet to see a stock Elise turning below 1:40 on the South track, in fact below 1:43. The Cups are in the low 1:40's from what I have observed there in the past 3 years and ZO6's are in the mid to high 1:30's so I don't think a stock Elise can do 1:30's, just not possible, sorry. Most of the 911 and GT3 drivers are in the mid to low 1:30's with a few of the really good drivers breaking into the high 1:28-1:29's. I'm there 4 days a week all season and I see what times are posted for each class.

I don't want to start an arguement here but I have been at the track when other closed wheel cars did below a 23 second lap time. I don't think Ryan holds the track record.

Elan Motorsports DP-02 car did a 1:22.3
Crawford DP car did a 1:19.7

I also heard through the grapevine that Nick Hamm driving a corvette of some sort did a 1:22.xx lap time as well.

I thought Matt Miller also had the record (at least at one time) with his Radical.

What kind of times did he run? Can you find that out? Call Matt.
Not sure why I'm so interested, other than to make the point that it's easy to make outrageous claims when one doesn't use their real name.

dpm are his initials, if I'm not mistaken. dpm is Ryan Malloy's father.

Then his "handle" should be dpm-rm's-f
I'm hearing more and more about lap-times below dpm-rm's-f's claims.

Matt said he posted a 1:26 in his Radical. The new owner of the Radical is posting 1:25's.
