The other day I attempted to eat some soup (spicy Thai with noodles).

Not only could I not eat this soup but I also had to open doors to air out my kitchen. The soup Tasted and smelled like burned electrical components.

Does all Thai food taste like this?

Maybe this is why these people are not very big.

 Which soup are you talking about?! Was it authentic Thai food or just some "Thai" dried noodles you picked up at Dominick's?

Tom Yum Gung is a very popular American "import" of Thai soup. I think "Tom Yum" translates to "short-circuit" and Gung is either "capacitor" or "shrimp". But that's just a coincidence; I think the folks at Dominic's pulled a fast one on you.

I suggest you drive straight into a brick wall. That will make it taste better.

I used to go to a small family owned restaurant by my house for Thai food all the time. The owners were extremely friendly (and from Thailand) and the place was never very busy. I would usually just tell them to make me something delicious and I didn't care what it was. It would almost always have a pretty good kick to it but it was always something different and it was always delicious. I actually kind of miss the place, it since closed and I haven't found anywhere else like it.

So I guess what I am saying is:

You probably had crappy Thai food. Good Thai food is good stuff.

Here's a picture of some shrimp (not lobsters) Vicki and I ate in Thailand. You get 3 per kilogram (2.2lbs).

Here's the view from our table at that restaurant. The shrimp are caught each morning and served through out the day.

It actually might not taste that good to you because they don't provide butter. Instead they provide the special "burn electrical components" sauce for you to dip it in. :) Hmmmmm tasty!
