Martin,

Will something like this work for measuring brake pressure:

http://www.omega.com/ppt/pptsc.asp?ref=PX209_PX219

If it will, then all we need is to somehow make the connector for the E-box extreme.

Yes, it will work.
The connection to the E-box is relatively simple.
It's a lot bigger than the picture would have you think. The biggest "intrusion" would be the large tee/connector in the native brake system to the transducer. In my experience (from a completely unrelated application) these are cheap devices (derogatory implication intended) and do not hold up well to vibration.
I'll look for better; let's also look to AiM, PI and Alfono for purpose-built devices.

It seems that they sell a brake pressure sensor for the EBox extreme in Italy:

http://www.aim-sportline.it/pages/download/section_documentation.htm

http://www.aim-sportline.it/download/doc/eng/ebox/M3441-000006-02KPG_eng.pdf

But it's not listed on their list of sensors page:

http://www.aim-sportline.it/pages/kart/section_kart_sensors.htm

 Maybe I have to buy the part from China and follow their directions.

I'll check with AIM here in the states. I've never tried any of this, but it was my understanding that they had a sensor that would work.

Other than size, I believe that the car sensors will plugin with no issues.

Is there something else I'm missing?

We have been running 4 of the car sensors (2 on each car) with T's purchased from Pegasus without any problems. We have been running them this way for 3 seasons now including alot of "vibration" (rumble strips, grass, other cars in the way) and several crashes.

Thanks Reed. Are you guys using brake pressure sensors on the CIR Junior team's karts yet?

Do you remember the approximate price? I assume you are describing something other than the transducer linked in the first post of this thread - I can buy that type for about $60 but they aren't very good, at least in the application I've used them.

It is a very similar device to the one in the link.

I can't find a link to the particular one that we use right now. I would guess them to be around $100. We have had good luck with them and they appear to work well.

I don't believe any of the outdoor karts have them yet. I think some of them are going to upgrade their data systems this year probably including throttle and brake sensors.

I stand corrected.
