I bought a MyChron GPS unit today.

I bought a MyChron GPS unit today from Jet Karting. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet or install it. It does work with the Ebox "Gold". So I will be keeping my EBox "Gold" for now. :)

After awhile you'll learn the track and won't need a GPS to find your way around.:)

Seriously, though, I look forward to your comments on its performance. I think I really want one. I'm glad you're the guinea pig.

I was going to put one on the shifter last season, and was to busy to do anything wit it so didn't. I have played with the data some at seminars and such. Looks VERY cool. I believe you on't even need the ebox to make it work, so could be a great part of a system with just the basic.

I'll be out there March 20 full time. Would love to play with it some. Somehow I know that you can overlay the GPS trace on Google Earth captures to see what your line is. CHMS doesn't have hi-res pics through there, but the track map on the site is done with gps, so may work. I'm glad Rick bought one, because he'll show the rest of us how to do all that...

If you have the MyChron 4, the GPS will plug into the back of it like the ebox does. With the new CAN Bus, you are able to daisy chain many of the 'add-ons' together to get the info you need.

It won't work with MyChron 2 or 3's though.

I haven't installed it yet. I'm going to try to install it next time I'm out there. I'll let you know what I think of it once I install it.

Dave, Andy installed my GPS unit for me. So now I have the MyChron4 + Ebox + GPS. I haven't downloaded any data yet. I'll let you know when I do that. At least I won't get lost now...

A buddy of mine has a mychron4 on his TaG kart... what software do I need to interface? Any tricks to it? Can I overlay RPM's between two runs or drivers?
