F1 Season Opener

The Formula 1 season opener is this coming Saturday and will be shown on speed channel starting at 11:30 PM. I talked to the restaurant managers and they are willing to keep a bar tender (Jeff) until the conclusion of the race. They are also willing to keep the kitchen open until midnight for anyone haning out for the race to grab some food for while they watch the race if I can guarantee them that at least 12-15 people will eat something. I know for sure that at least 4 or 5 staff members will fulfill a part of that obligation. I am looking for about 10 more people to say they will be here.

If you are interested let me know in e-mail form or on the forum here so I can keep the restaurant updated on whats going to happen. I am also going to make some phone calls and e-mail a few people. This is not and advertisement for the record. This is me wanting to hang out with a bunch of fun people, eat (my favorite), and watch the season opener. If I can get a group of people to commit it should be a great time. We did this a couple times last year and it worked out nicely which is why the restuarant is considering keeping the kitchen open for an extra 2 hours for us.

I'm planning on attending. I can't wait to see if/how the lack of traction control changes things. It will certainly make wet races more interesting.

Hell yes! Keep them coming. I have about 15 people on the list now and the more the merrier. Again, please pass the invite on to your friends, family's, and anybody that doesn't know about it yet.

If this is a success and the restaurant (not just bar) makes good money they will be much more motivated to open for us in the future.

So it looks like I got the times wrong.

The pre-race will begin at 10:30 and the race at 11 pm.

Please make sure you do not arrive at 11:30 for the pre-race as I previously stated or you will miss the beginning of the race!
