Chassis questions from a newbie

I am interested in racing a 4 cycle kart but most all the chassis I see that are designed for 4 cycles are offset for oval track racing. Can a 4 cycle be mated to a Margay Brava 1.2 or similar road racing chassis. Is it just a matter of installing the right motor mount. Is there a problem with putting a 4 cycle on a kart that was designed for a 2 cycle?
