John Oyen and I have conceived a new race format.

1 driver gets in a kart and starts driving clockwise.

1 driver gets in a kart and starts driving counter-clockwise.

The driver who posts the fastest lap wins. :grinyes:

Who wants to race? :)

I'm ready when ever you are. As punishment for your aggressive reckless conduct on the track last night you should have to race wearing a blindfold!!:grinyes:

:hmm: Sounds like it wouldn't be fair since usually the track is faster in one direction than the other. :D

How was it last night? I was in need of some rest after Sunday night, so I didn't think it would have been a good idea for me to head up there.

:jawdrop: Someone thought it was perfectly reasonable to drive full speed into a pole on purpose.

Whaaaat? :bugeye:

Did they go ahead and try it out?

Rick

Yes, he did. On Track 1, going clockwise, the S turn (aka Redbull), John Oyen hit the middle apex pole full speed, bounced off and hit me and spun me. :shakehead:

For the record in my defense. Extreme pressure was being applied to the right side of my cart (forcing the cart to the left) going thru the red bull.:bump:

I'm still laughing today re this!!

Were you guys side by side?

Rick

Yes. I passed him on the inside coming out of the hairpin and he tried to pinch me off at the next right hand turn. Someone was trying to move my kart to the right, so I responded by holding my line. As we approached the Red Bull turn, I looked at the current trajectory of both karts and saw that mine was going to just clip the apex and the other kart was going straight for the wall. I remember thinking "Only an idiot wouldn't start braking.". That was my mistake, I assumed John had some common sense. He hit the wall at full speed and bounced off and caught the back end of my kart and spun me across the front of his kart. :disappointed:

I caught up and passed him 2 laps later. :grinyes:

Wait a minute. If you had passed me on the inside how would I have been able to pinch you off at the next turn? To have passed a cart means that your cart or part of your cart has to actually be in front of the overtaken cart.

I was told by qualified cir staff that blame for this occurance rests 50% with John & 50% with Rick. I personally feel that the blame should be 30% John and 70% Rick but thats just me !

:meant:I was on the inside and even with you when you started driving into the side of my kart. That pushed my kart up against the wall and started slowing me down. I started pushing back so I wouldn't be skidding on the wall.

What was your plan? To drive on the outside, while I was on the inside, through the entire track?

While racing side by side with you, you attempted to alter my line (which did not include hitting the wall at full speed). Your cart was never pushed to the right into the wall. As more pressure was being applied to my cart leaving me unable to follow a safe line of racing I decided that I would rather hit the wall than to easly give up the position to you.:kungfu:

Sounds like the blame was 90% / 90%.

I always miss the best races.

This can only be settled with a kart duel. Grab your jousting poles and get in your karts.

Bonus points will be awarded for onboard video.

I thought we settled this the other night? It was both peoples fault and we all three agreed on that.

Rick

Yes, we settled it and yes we both agree it was the other guy's fault. :grinyes: We just want to make sure that everyone else knows that it was the other guy's fault.
