It's been 52 minutes into the "debate" and finally the first question on what either will do as president. It's like I'm watching the Ricky Lake show.

Okay, for the last 29 minutes they've been talking (at last) about policy.
It's ironic that (as irresponsible as I am) I will be among the most likely to take advantage of their handouts yet I'm strongly against them.
The fun thing is: all of you whom support this nonsense will be paying for my irresponsibilities.
Please aim high and achieve prodigiously - I'll be needing lots of help.

Well, in 1:52 minutes of "debate" less than an hour of it was debate - it was answering Charlie Gibson's and George Stephanopoulos' questions on "Bittergate", "Snipergate", "Wrightgate" and other nonsense. The shame of it isn't the moderators' inane questions - it was the candidates' lack of moral fortitude to say, "are you going to ask anything relevant?"
After a brief period of weak debate the candidates were each given time for final statements. They both reverted to saying nothing tangible. Well, at least Senator Obama said nothing (meaningful). Senator Clinton gave us this little tidbit: "...we will get back to shared prosperity." (emphasis mine)
I'm looking forward to sharing in the prosperity you'll earn and I'll take advantage of.
Please don't remind me of the pain I just felt on April 15th.
I didn't watch the debate (yet). I was too busy practicing and preparing for the race this Saturday.

I can't afford to give out custom gear sets... but I'll give you alcohol handouts if you come out and race this Saturday. :)

Before, or after the race.:)

An hour and a half has passed since the end of the "debate" and the 4 out of 6 of the most hits of news sites discussing it go to foreign countries. Were we watching American Idol?, America's Next Top Model?, Dancing with the Stars?, Home Makeover something or other?... who's your representative?
No wonder they hate us.

The next President probably has more of an effect on people in other countries than it has on people in the US. That and polygamy is much more interesting.

A post of mine, a few back, was inspired by my fright of Senator Clinton espousing "shared prosperity", a term I hadn't heard before but it scared the collective poop out of me the moment I heard it.
It turns out others use this term; heck, they've got their own web site: http://www.sharedprosperity.org/
No wonder they love us?

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, the greatest evil of capitalism is its unequal distribution of wealth, the greatest virtue of socialism is its equal distribution of misery.
