Tonight (10/03/05) CIR will be holding the first official
Monthly Run-Offs. After last week's very successful trial
of this new format, tonight promises to be an exciting,
challenging, and very competitive event.
Here's a short description, which I've copied from a
Reed Bartuska Email (without his permission... I hope
I don't hear from their lawyers)
"The new format is as follows:
Round 1
2 x 10 lap Races per driver with the finishing order and points determined by a driver’s single best lap time. The points earned during the first two races in Round 1 will determine the Starting Grid for Round 2.
Round 2
1 x 15 lap Race with the finishing order determined by finishing position, which in turn sets the grid for the Final, Round 3. This provides driver’s with an additional opportunity to move up (or down) the grid through their ability to pass and earn grid spots.
Round 3
1 x 30 lap Race with the finishing order determined by finishing position. The winner of Round 3 will be the winner of the Monthly Run Offs. With the grid determined by a blend of outright speed and passing ability, the racing is set to be very close indeed."
Tonight's event is for the "Pro Class" - those with ProScores above 200. I think I'm correct when I say next Monday will be for the "Club Class"
Please contact Reed at CIR for more information and sign-up.
