From what I have seen lately....
Blocking is NOT racing
Not a pretty sight and makes me wonder if it's worth to cost, time and stress.
I'm pretty sure that if I was in that heavyweight train last night it would be my last runoff's.

speaking for most of the lightweights...
in the winter leagues last year, we spent a lot of the rounds of the track 3 league doing the same... the slightly slower karts up front doing some serious blocking... the whole race would be a train of lightweight guys waiting waiting waiting and trying not to make any mistakes of their own...
although an aggressive blocker presents a challenge in it's own right, it is more frustrating than anything else...
at present, there is, essentially, a gentleman's agreement now amongst the lightweight regulars that we wont block each other... this is especially so on track 3 counterclockwise where the passing opportunities aren't as many... (and no, martin, you didn't block me last night - i had plenty of room and a few opportunities but kept making my own mistakes)...
if someone gets a slow kart - oh well... thats the breaks sometimes... its part of the experience... speaking for myself, overall, the experience is better without aggressive blocking...

My preference was to run the heavyweight final in the clockwise direction just as we had run the semi-final. However, I was overruled.
The greater passing opportunities available in the clockwise direction might have made it possible to break the log jam for third place. Particularly on the long backstraight leading to that tight left hander that takes you back on track 2.
At the end of the day though, it still comes down to the driver at the front of the train. They should have enough respect for their competitors to drive a reasonable racing line even if they happen to unfortunately draw a kart that is not up to speed.
Blocking for one or two laps at the end of the race to preserve a position that one has fought an entire race for is acceptable. Blocking for an entire race because you have a bad kart is stupid.
