I just had shoulder surgery and will be out the rest of this season. When I am allowed to drive a car again I will bring Kyle to a few more races this season.

Ryan, I plan on going. Have kart ready to go. Hope we can get some guys out there. Doesn't sound like many guys making it out. Jim not sure what happened, stay healthy. That sucks MotoBob sold kart. He wasn't a bad rider. Get the guy out who bought it. Rick, Roberto has a leopard for sale.

Thanks Jeff, I am sure I will be out watching soon. I hope to be able to run the 100 lap race but that may be pushing it a bit. I would like to run in the supercan for that race plus it would be less stress on the shoulder.

I sold it to a guy I used to work with named Jeff Cambell. He does not race anymore. He bought it for his kid who races the big tracks. He might be out at Norway at some point for practice etc. I think they needed a spare chassis and motor.
Karting is fun, I think I could have improved with some more experience, but the fun to dollar ratio is tough for me. I am used to buying a bike and beating it silly. They just keep going. You can buy a stock MX bike and go win races at almost the professional level. I spend $25 to go riding and $4 at the car wash after. Then repeat. While racing the kart I just feel like something is missing. It is hard to get replicate the feeling of successfully clearing a 90’ triple jump. For now the fun still out weighs the risk, so I am going to ride some more. Maybe I’ll be back.
I plan on driving up to CIR sometime this week. When is the next Peter J?
I checked out another indoor kart place this week near Kansas City. I'll post a review.
Good luck you guys, stay safe. I should see you all around.

I understand completely; I've stuck one engine and blown up another one. :frown: This season has cost me a lot more than I had originally hoped.

Did you ever think about Stock Moto karts? You'd still have to pay for tires, but it would be "stock" and use the same engine as a motocross engine.

What about tires? Don't you need a new set once in a while? Are you also including medical costs for injuries into the comparison?

Good luck to you too! Stay safe and keep the broken bones down to a minimum.

The costs are adding up quick for me too. Its funny when I first started looking into karting, they said Tag karts was the way to go. Not much goes wrong blah blah blah. Well I have raced the kart say 10 times and practiced 8 times. I have over $10 grand in reciepts.(Does not include what I paid for kart) This sport just bleeds you everytime you go out. Thought I had it all together beforer night race on Saturday. get out there and everything goes wrong and stayed wrong all day. Bought new brakes for rear. New everything. Had Andy bleed brakes cause i don't have brake bleeder. Get about 4 laps no brakes. Then coil goes out cant start. Andy had Sonik coil get that problem fixed. Bleed brakes 1 lap no brakes. Left kart at Concepts. I'm sick of wrenching on kart and getting poor results. Hopefully Andy can get it right. I'm so wrapped up in sport now and love it. I just wish I could get through 4 or 5 races without any problems. To sell everything now I wouldn't get beans for. The thought races threw my head alot lately.

Thank you Dave Harrington for the side pod and drive train repair and Andy Finke for ALL your help on Sat. Your help was greatly appreciated as you both were wrenching on Brennan and Becker's Karts. Thank You.
Jeff, Hopefully you will have brakes this weekend.

No problem guys. I like working on the karts, seeing guys get faster. Now this next week I'd like to put in a request we work on setup, not just getting you back on track!
