Anyone going? With USKGP cancelled. I will be going down to race.
Will race my new used Italian Kart Supersonic with a Leopard in spec tag 125 and will bring my Biesse with my Sonik and I think i can race open class. Think there are a mix of engines in this class.
Will Road race and not sprint race. Man. Cup is also racing. Thought about racing Masters in Man Cup. But know i dont belong on a sprint track with good comp.
Let me know if you are interested in going. I'm using a bigger trailer and have room for 2 karts and equipment.

Good luck man! Bring home the trophy! If my kart wasn't in a million pieces, I would consider going with you.

Thanks Rick. Would love to think I have a chance. Will be getting my engine in top shape for race. Will have Johnny West re-build and dyno and get everything he can out of engine. It will be my first time in Italian kart and running a leopard. So not sure how that will go! Not to worried with that. I will get practice in at race.

You would be more than welcome to come! Should be a blast.

For me my girl friend lives about 30 min away!!!!!!!!!!:shooting_smilie2: Thats not what I will be shooting!!

Rick and Ryan, I talked with Bill. He is thinking on going now. He would be willing to use his truck and trailer. 4 karts and equip shouldnt be a problem. What would help is vertical kart stands I think.
Ryan said there is a indoor event next week at Buffolo Grove. Bill and I would like to go if possible. We could talk about this more in depth. With 4 people going gas down in price. It wont kill the wallet to bad. Think it would be a blast!

Rick and Ryan if you guys go. What class are you running? Sprint in Man Cup or Road Race? Bill and I will Road race. If you Road race I think they require front brakes. Not sure on that. Dont have a WKA spec book. Just sent my membership in. Hope to get everything soon. Im sure Andy knows. Plus full width bumpers. I know you have one Rick not sure about Ryan. I'm getting a bumper made by Bergfelt's.

You won't need full width bumpers for the Man Cup race at Daytona.... they not required until 3/1/09. Ryan....in my opinion....road racing is nuts....I wish WKA had adopted different rules for TAG Masters for Man Cup....I think they could have increased entries significantly if they had allowed drivers under 35 that met a certain weight....200lbs is what Rotax goes with. You could run TAG, but would have a hard time making the race at your weight. You could run HPV Lite & Heavy.

Dave, I wish the would have allowed age 30and above @200+ as well. Yeah, I didn't really think I would have a chance of keeping up in senior, it would be an awsome experience to try though. I have tried road racing a few time and it is nuts, but its fun.

You could do Rotax Masters!

http://rmaxchallenge.com/page.cfm?content=19

Master Age: 16 & up 405 lbs. minimum
Official Masters class age is 32 (32nd birthday must fall during 2008).
Competitors of competition age less than 32-years-old (competition age) must reach the age of 16 by October 31, 2008 and have a minimum driver weight of 190 pounds including all race apparel except helmet.

So basically, you're in because you're over 16 years old and over 190lbs. Now all you have to do is buy a ROTAX and find a place to race (MRP? same numbers as CHMS).

Did you notice in Man Cup Tag Masters only runs one day. Kind of silly when you travel from where ever your coming from just to race one day.

Hey Jeff-

Not wanting to open a huge can of worms here, but make sure you discuss what specs to build the Leopard to with Johnny. WKA Roadrace allows a Leopard exhaust port to be raised .070". This is to give it more power, bringing it in line with the Sonic VX. WKA sprint, CES Leopards, and TAGUSA all require stock cylinder.

I don't care which way you decide...I just hate to see someone surprised after motor work.

BTW, WKA Sprint TAG weights has the Leopard at 365 and the Rotax at 350. Rotax runs the same motor everywhere...

Whats Rotax weight in Road racing for WKA? My check cleared so I hope to get the rules book soon.

Does Tag/USA only allow Motori, Sonik TX, and Rok TT for Road racing? For 2009. Am I seeing that right? I dont even see a Leopard Listed or a Rotax. Whats up with that? If thats the case if I get a Leopard or a Rotax then I cant race CES series?

All these Tag rules! A freaken Joke, they realy need to get on the same page all the Orgs. This is hurting the sport of Tag. If they think they can keep deregulating engines and expect people to keep buying the engine of the year. One org alows one and not the other. It kills the sport. How about a freeze on Tag engines for 3 years. So they can figure it out and plan a future for this class.
Maxter took over Sonik. They will be coming out with a new Maxter/Sonik then what. This is good for Sonik. Hope this help leads to other shops caring Sonik parts. TS racing is one of the only shops to get Sonik parts(I know LAD sells Sonik but they must sell the parts at same price as TS) they charge way to much for parts! They got you by the balls!!! Not a happy camper when it comes to TS sorry!!

I will be there to watch the races. Wish I was good enough to race though.
