I'll be attending the Audi Club's 3 day track day at Autobahn. It will be at Autobahn on March 31st, April 1st, and April 2nd. They will run the North track on the 31st, the South track on the 1st and the full track on the 2nd. If you're not racing karts that weekend, come out and have some fun! :evil_lol:

Now THAT was my kind of driver's meeting and tech inspection. It was the first BYOB tech inspection and driver's meeting I've ever been to! Everyone had a six pack in hand. It was GrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeaaAATTT! :grinyes: Now I understand why they do it the night before.

What time do you guys start running on the track tomorrow? Are you having an instructor ride along or just running solo?

GOOD MORNING! I'll have an instructor. My instructor has the same car as I do. I've raced with him at CIR before. He said that he'll probably sign off on me and ask to move me up to the advanced group. I told him I want to stay in the intermediate group so I can have an instructor and learn. We'll see how I feel about taking the car to the limits. If I feel comfortable, then I'll just move up. Spectators are allowed for a fee of $10 at the gate, if any of you guys are interested.

I'll be at the track at 7:30am. The driver's meeting is at 8:00am and then we're on track by 8:30 or 9:00 am. We run until 5:00pm. The schedule is the same for Sat, Sun and Mon.

Bring beer!

I'm running all 3 days. :grinno: Don't need extra pads or tires till the season's over. That's the benefits of having a car that only weighs 2077 lbs. :grinyes:

Ryan Osiecki is participating in this event with his SCCA B Prepared Club Racing E46M3.

My dad and I did the entire season last year on the same brakes and tires on our Elise. The car just doesn't wear stuff out. Its very nice that way.

:grinyes: Glad to hear you had a great time this Saturday Rick!
I was wondering if the weather would hold out for you.
Did you see Dennis and Ryan Molloy out there?

Enjoy your Sunday running the Exige S! :thumb1:

How many events and what kind of pads and tires? were they steet/track or dedicated track? That's awesome.

Ryan's partner for the last 200 Lap Enduro put his M3 ON top of the tire barrier in turn 2 on the North track today.

I saw Matt Miller. He was driving his Elise on the North Track.

Yeah, Kris hit the tirewall sideways at about 90-100 MPH. It was damp with some standing water. The track seems to have poor drainage in some areas. Also he was running Pirelli race slicks, but most important he walked away. :)

Did he put it there for storage? Or possibly to get a better view of the other cars coming through the corner?

Kidding

I agree that the drainage is not the best in a few places there. I also think its kind of silly to go out on a track with standing water on slicks.

He was drifting around 8 and 9 for the entire session prior to the crash.

Was he really doing that? Those tires cost $385 a piece. :eek7:

I don't think he was doing it on purpose. It must have been really slick out there.

Track 3... I mean the Full Circuit ROCKS!!! My favorite turns are 2 & 3 on the South Track and 3,4,5 on North Track. The connecting turn from the North Track to the South Track is very fun too!

I agree the transitions are great on the two tracks. I love the "jump" connecting the two. If you stay off line to the right you can get some good air.:) It will make for a good picture!

I'm trying to get the inside rear wheel to lift...

No. I just found that picture on the Audi Club forums. I think that is the link from North to South. I had 15 degree slip angles going through the whole thing a couple of times. Not the fast way, but definitely a lot of fun! :evil_lol:

awesome time out there!! I went for all three days (was driving the silver e36 M3 that still had interior, lol). I was driving in the orange group.

I got some session data from my traqmate all weekend... once I do some analysis, I will post. :)

I just received my photos from Sideline Sports Photography from the Audi's 3 day track event. Here are 5 of 140 photos they took. I am very happy with the quality of the images and their turn around time. Sideline will be taking photos at most of Autobahn's events this year. They have a schedule of the events they will attend at www.sidelinesportsphotography.com :)

Hmmm that means I should be receiving my pictures soon.

Nice pictures Ryan! I like the one where you're lifting the inside wheels.
