Looks interesting. Too bad I can't read Italian. Do you know the details?

Rick,

It's an Endurance Race that Birel runs every year. It's going to be in the Jesolo (Venezia) track.
The cost per team is 3,300 euros , that is much cheaper than other similar events.

The karts they are going to be using are the Birel N35-Honda.
These are the Birel rental karts and they also use them as their endurance kart.
MRP had one of these karts at the Expo last week.

Thanks for the info Roberto. How many drivers per team? What date is it scheduled for? And are we sending a Chicago team?

How did you find this event? I've been concentrating on endurance racing for the last few years and am aware of about 10 different regular 24 hour karting events across the world but had never heard of this one. I found their 2007 event site.

It looks like it's being run on March 31st to April 1st this year which is right on top of us. It looks like this is the 9th running of the event. Like you said it looks like they run the Birel NX35 chassis. The entry fee is 3500 Euros plus tax, and the limit is 32 teams. Looks like a really good event. I've been driving the NX35 for a practice for the last year or so since both of the tracks nearest to me are Birel dealers. I like the chassis, it seems more "racey" than most other rental chassis. Let me know if you need a driver for this or any other event. I'm trying to do at least 2 or maybe 3 more 24 hour events this year. Talk to you later.

Having toured the Birel factory, I can tell you that the whole company is a class act. "Cose" is the division of the company that runs the 'corporate' side of things at Birel. The 24 hour race they run is supposed to be one of the best in the industry.

If you guys are thinking of heading out there, you may want some practice. We just bought a fleet of N35's for CHMS to match the ones we've had in Marshalltown. Stop out and see Les sometime.

BTW, we have the Stratus karts from last season for sale is someone is looking for a fleet of their own!

Maybe not the appropriate place, but, Hello Andy, welcome again to the site, and thanks for contributing.

I plan on dominating TaG at CHMS this year, so if you can find time away from your international junkets to over-blown karting thingamajigs, make your way to the finest facility on the planet and try to beat me.

Hey Martin-

Sorry if posting that was a little out of line.

I stop in here quite a bit, but most of the time I'm not up to speed with the rest of the racing world. These karts are about all I have time to keep up with now...

I game for the challenge...but i'm not buying the beer if I lose. How 'bout I get the first round either way??

I'll be on the raod a lot this season, but I'm sure I'll be out that way several times. If things work out well, I'll be there with some of the IIR guys for the Napelton Porsche 30 lapper June 23. We'll stay in touch.

It was my post that was out of place, not yours. I took advantage of seeing your first post (at least in a long time) and, out of context, challanging you to a race. Thanks for allowing me to save face by not being available to take me up on it. However, the longer you're away from sprint-karting, the better chance I have at beating you.

I noticed you didn't chime in on our musings about a 24 race at CHMS.

I would love to see a 24 hour race as long as it is well done, and I don't have time to work on it right now. I know that Les has spoken about it some, so I'm staying out of it for now. If it goes I'll clear the calendar.

Right now I'm keeping the JET Tent program running full steam for MidWest Sprint Series, Championship Enduro Series, and Rock Island. Roberto had a hell of a run last year at RIGP, and we need to do that again! If any of you guys see us at some of those events, stop by and say hi.

And I'm up for running with you, but I've been 'advised' that betting beer would be a foolish mistake... But what the heck, I've been foolish before. :evil_lol:
