It seems no one talks about this. Just wondering what really goes on. Do people use this stuff even though they say you cant?

I was listening to some guys talking at Badger yesterday. They were saying that most of the top guys use tire treatment. That it isnt illlegal as long as you dont put it on at the track. Is this true? Some kart shop catalogs that I have. Have pages and pages of this stuff for sale. Someone has to be buying it!

Anyone willing to tell the truth on this subject? I actually heard a guy say he takes a belt sander and makes the tire flatter. Then uses Track Tac mint!

Excerpt from http://www.badgertagseries.com/ClubSite/Rules.aspx

Tires

Bridgestone YHC only. No tire treatment allowed. One set per race for heat and feature races. In conjunction with the current governing tire rules; drivers will be limited to 4 sets of tires for the season that can be used on race dates. Drivers can use as many sets as they would like for practice and testing days. New tires will be tagged/branded by the Series Director and should be presented to the Series Director prior to mounting. On race day drivers will be DQ’d for not running marked tires in a heat or feature race. The selling of tires to another driver beyond their 4 set allotment for the purpose using in a race will not be allowed.

"drivers will be limited to 4 sets of tires for the season that can be used on race dates." - Really? Are they serious? I guess that would save money... unless of course you are doping the tires every race. Either way, I'd have to imagine that one would wear those tires down to the cords over the season.

The guys that I over heard talking were NOT Tag drivers. There kids are racing. Dont want this to get blown up like someone is cheating there in Tag!!! Thats far from the truth!!!! I have no clue!

I just want to know the truth. Like I said, I have a Kart Catalog with 7 or 8 pages full of the stuff. Some of it is like a $150 a gallon. Someone has to buy this stuff to have that much different product. 3/4 of this stuff says it cant be detected. So saying its not allowed is like telling a kid he cant have candy!

Rick, I know about the 4 sets of tires. This is the first year i think they are doing this. I think its a good idea. Keeps everyone at a more equal playing field. Keeps cost down and so on. Plus remember Masters is a 10 race series. 4 sets 10 races. Plus top 8 races count for points . So you could go to 8 races and use a new set every other race.

With karting you ask one question to 10 people and get ten opinions most of the time. I just wanted to know if people are putting this on there tires at home before they get to track. To me they must be, if not why have all this stuff for sale. To me its added cost I dont need. I can improve my driving on my own. Unless its Miracle Whip!!!

I have never used it, but I am curious about the performance benefits (if any) as well. I guess one way to know for sure, would be to buy some and conduct a test (not on race day obviously).

Did anyone else notice that the one description says it "can be used to repair tires damaged by goat pee"

Goat pee? How often is there a goat pee problem on a racetrack?

Tire Doping has been a HUGE problem for WKA in the dirt world. Tires are everything there.

Badger has had a history of issues up there because they require a VERY hard tire for the junior classes. The harder the tire, and slower the class, the better this works.

I believe you'd find little gain with a TAG and soft tires. It would burn off quickly.

Also, I know the penalties for getting busted with this were pretty steep. I know at one point it could get you expelled from WKA. Not sure what the policy is now in the oval crowd.

Goat Pee is just another Tire Treatment. Is really weird that they make a treatment to undo the treatment you already used ! LOL

That stuff is probably expensive. It looks like it's time to invest in a quality goat. I guess I could feed them my old clothes rather than donating them.

Does anybody have a place to keep a goat? I'll buy the goat, you store it, we split the profits.
