It's been a sluggish start to the 50th anniversary season for the Badger Kart Club. Thus far in 2009 the club has been unable to get a complete show after two tries in the Bridgestone Championship Points Series, due to rain. They look for that luck to change as Badger Raceway will host race number three in the series this Mother's Day, May 10.
As always, the public is encouraged to attend. There is plenty of free parking and the grandstands are also open for spectators at no charge. Badger Raceway is located near Dousman, Wisconsin and is a paved road circuit that plays host to some of the best karting action in the world. Engines fire at 10 a.m. for practice, with the first race starting at about 11:30 a.m.
There is a spectrum of classes on any given race day with Kid Karts, Shifters, Tags, two cycles and four cycles all competing. The ages of the racers range from five year olds to adults. Fans are welcome to carry in their own refreshments (no alcohol until the end of the racing) or the Karter's Café is available. The café offers drinks, chips, great sandwiches and other treats to help you get through the day.
Please check the club's website for the latest updates at http://www.badgerkartclub.com (http://www.badgerkartclub.com/)
