Club News: Badger Kart Club - Round 3 Preview http://www.ekartingnews.com/images/spacer.gif

It's been a sluggish start to the 50th anniversary season for the Badger Kart Club. Thus far in 2009 the club has been unable to get a complete show after two tries in the Bridgestone Championship Points Series, due to rain. They look for that luck to change as Badger Raceway will host race number three in the series this Mother's Day, May 10.

As always, the public is encouraged to attend. There is plenty of free parking and the grandstands are also open for spectators at no charge. Badger Raceway is located near Dousman, Wisconsin and is a paved road circuit that plays host to some of the best karting action in the world. Engines fire at 10 a.m. for practice, with the first race starting at about 11:30 a.m.

There is a spectrum of classes on any given race day with Kid Karts, Shifters, Tags, two cycles and four cycles all competing. The ages of the racers range from five year olds to adults. Fans are welcome to carry in their own refreshments (no alcohol until the end of the racing) or the Karter's Café is available. The café offers drinks, chips, great sandwiches and other treats to help you get through the day.

Please check the club's website for the latest updates at http://www.badgerkartclub.com (http://www.badgerkartclub.com/)

Nice job Paul. The comp. is good. Plus those guys know the track well.
Sorry I couln't make it. Had to work nights this weekend.

Rick, Badger has a 16 race schedule. This weekend was there third race. First couple were rained out. Masters follows 10 race schedule. This being first Masters race. Kind of nice, at our age trying to battle for points and make 16 races is plain silly! 10 races and you can still have time for other events. To me this is why this class has success. With good turn outs when they race.

Dan and wife didn't race Masters? Maybe they didn't want to spend the $100 each to join series plus membership fees. If you race Tag Masters you have to join club membership at Badger and Tag masters fee. $185 total.

Looks like they had around a 150 entries. Strange how the economy hasn't effected the turn outs at Badger.
If you look you see alot of Illinois plates. Just dont seem to race at Concepts. Not sure why, maybe cause they race on a Sunday?

:jawdrop: Are you serious?! Wow. That's pretty steep. Maybe I'll race Senior instead. I'm not sure how many TAG Masters races I could attend. Do I have to sign up for the club or anything to race in Senior?

No, you dont have to be a member to race senior. But you have to pay a larger entry fee. Member fee for race and pit pass is $20, nothing hardly!!! If your not a member its $40.

Masters series is an extra at Badger. Its not a regular class with it being only 10 races long. Plus out of the ten, one is at Shawano and one at Road America sprint track. Fee is $100 but there are some gifts, t-shirts, and give-aways stuff like that. They have a cook out one race at Badger, with some drinking! It kind of pays you back.

Member fee is $75 a year plus $10 for every racer in family. Not bad, this goes to up-keep the place. Keep track in excellant condition and so forth.
