Bent axle?

I've heard a bent axle can be straightened, at least once.

Anyone have an opinion or good technique?

(Not including Mark's advice of re-mounting in reverse
and removing my brake-bleeder o-ring)

I've seen guys straighten a slight bend with a dead blow hammer without even taking the axle out the kart. Some shops carry an axle straightening tool for more serious bends, but for 125cc karts I would recommend getting a new axle.
