Hello all Chicago Racers,

My name is Felix Wu and I just graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. I am currently in search of an entry level engineering job. However, understanding the state of the economy, limited size and competition of the automotive and racing industry, it is pretty hard to land a job in this industry to get my feet wet.

That is why I have decided to offer myself as an apprentice/assistant to someone local who tracks/races their car seriously at any level and see if I could be of any help. I do not ask for any form of payment and I am willing to do anything from track side assistance, data logging and analyzing, inventory, to any type of engineering problem solving. At the end of the day, this is where my passion lies and I am willing to use my free time to to gain any sort of racing/engineering experience while helping someone out.

Now a little bit about myself. I have owned a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution for 2 years and I did my first track day this spring at Grattan race track in Michigan with 3ballsracing. It was a great experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, at this time, I do not see myself doing this on a regular basis as the cost of maintenance is just too high. My 5th gear synchro is shot and my pads and rotors are pretty worn too.

To wrap things up, I do not want my lack of formal automotive engineering experience stop me from entering the industry and I am genuinely trying to offer help of all sorts. So please let me know if you are interested and we can talk more about it and hopefully work something out so that we can mutually benefit from it. Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Felix Wu
