All Rotax owners, I have gotten it from a real reliable source that the MWSS is adding a Rotax only class next season. Not sure on any details yet, but the class will let the Rotax guys get out there and shake the cobwebbs off the Rotax motors next season. When I find out more, I will let you know.

Thats great Jeff.
But if you want my opinion this class will just split Tag class that is hurting for numbers all ready. Think they averaged 7 or 8 Tag karts a race. Leopard only they averaged 5. How many Tag classes you need? They have a Tag Masters that will most likely get dropped because of VERY low numbers. So I guess they fugure start a Rotax class lets see how it does! I cant imagine this class getting no more than 4 to 6 guys.
With so few racers, with economy in the tank. These Series races should join together. Combine MMSS and Route 66 Series. Dont need both right now. Sure there are some classes that draw well at both these Series but.....
With out so many Series races local track numbers would go up. I think this is way more important than holding a "Championship" Series every freaken Weekend! Its killing this sport. Races on top of races. All not giving a crap about the next guy, track owners, and racers for that matter.
This sport needs a serious wake-up call!!!

I am told that that at the 2010 WKA Man Cup events there will also be a Rotax only and Leopard only classes on Saturdays. Then on Sundays...there will be a combined TAG Sr. class. I truly believe that the single engine classes are the way to go, and the Rotax and Leopard are the most popular TAG engines. If you want to truly be competitive in TAG, you need about 4 different types of engines in your trailer. Multiple engines classes don't work. Rotax and clone racing are two of the only growth areas in karting.

It kills me too see these Series races coming out all ready for 2010(some have been out for a month). Sprint and road race for that matter. The season has just gotten over. Most with low numbers. But yet they are all trying to get there schedule out ahead of each other. Trying to out do each other. I guess they want to say they had there schedule out first and blame the other guy for schedule conflicts. A total joke!!!!
WKA and Tag/USA and what ever sanction bodies need to get a better grasp of the over scheduling. Its totally watering down the sport.

You are right Dave. Trouble is it screw guys with other Tag engines. Just becoming paper weights. Guess now they are making it so you only need 2 engines in the trailer.

Jeff, how many Rotax's did you see in Tag ? How many in the Rt 66 series ? I was the only one who ran more than one race. I think its great. The RMax series has a lot of karts. Now maybe we can bring out those guys. I know the sport has a lot to work on, but dont get mad because they dont have a Sonik only class ! LOL Well to be honest, the problems have been in karting for years. Back in the 70 and 80's wewent through this also. That time I had the motor that was on its way out. All I want is a place to race and have guys to race with. Winning is fun, but I just want to race. As far as the series having the schedules out already, I think its great. Now we can all figure out what we want to do. My wife really liked the CES series so as any of you who have been married for 25 years, I will probably be there. I personally like the MWSS and Rt 66. As far as the series deluting the weekend racers, I dont think thats the case. I cant afford to race every weekend in a local club event against guys who want to put on new tires every weekend ! It just isnt worth it. I think the club races that run almost every week are killing themselves. And Jeff, I dont want to point fingers, but you didnt race every weekend anyway ! I know the reason, money is tight, it is every where. Luckily for me it didnt happen until after the season. I dont know of anyone who races every weekend at a club level who also races regional. And the same goes the other way, the guys who race the MWSS and RT 66 dont usually race in the club races. I used club races for testing and a bit of fun in HPV. Whats your opinion on that one ? The new motor will cost less and be better and different with the changes they made !

My problem with Tag is this. If they made approved engines for Tag then let all Tag engines run. Find parity with weight, flex length, or whatever works.
What this does is keep guys with Sonik, Motori, and Rok TT(plus whatever other tag engines) away from coming. Why would I come to a series race and practice on Friday to only be able to race on Sunday for 1 class?
If they want to have only 2 engines to make the cut in Tag then give a future date that these other engines will not run anymore. Give the racers a date when they know they are screwed, not when ever they please to screw the racers.

They could give a date as start of 2012, the only approved engines shall be.... Give guys 2 years to take there punches, not just knock them out.
This would give a guy a chance to run the engine in the ground by using up existing parts in trailer or be able to sell to someone who may just run laps at the local track for practice.
When there was a shortage of Sonik parts last year. I went and picked up 3 to 4k worth of parts for my Sonik. Mostly new parts for fraction of new cost. Didnt run a whole lot this year do to lack of funds or work. Still have 90% of these parts. It would really suck to get stuck with an engine and all these parts that you cant race with.
To me this isn't the time for a sanction body to screw racers and make engines obsolete. But karting as a whole doesnt give a crap about any of that. Thats why people dont stick around long!

I do completely agree with you. It all really comes from the Manufacturer not providing the right support for the motors ! You are 100% right, please dont get me wrong, I would have bought a Leopard for certain tracks next year if I had decided to race in the MWSS or the Man Cup. But at least this way, it gets me off the hook a bit ! But to be honest, I will probably concentrate on CES ! LOL Lets do that Jeff, its way for relaxing and a lot more karts !

If you want to run CES series next year. Im up for it. I think Dave Larson did a great job with schedule.
Its time to bail on the Sonik! Someone will get a good deal.
Got my friend down to $3k on his Italian Kart SuperSonic chassis with Leopard engine. Might have 2 to 3 hours on kart and engine. New front brakes never installed. So if I get $2500 for my kart, engine, and engine parts i will be happy! Going to empty the trailer and put everything on ekarting and here for sale that i have for kart and engine.
Hopefully at some point next year I can purchase a Rotax. Would be nice to have both.
