If you guys can help get me in the right direction, I can do a good bit of searching on the subject... but right now this seems like alphabet soup.

I am considering a HPV kart, and had a few questions. Please reply if you can shed some light.

Does HPV rattle your brain like a Leopard does?
Is HPV a 2-cycle or 4-cycle class?
Who is the governing body for HPV class rules? I want to read the details.
HPV is now called "Komet Piston Valve", right?
What are the other names for this class?
What should I look for in a used kart? (i.e. which chassis, which engine, etc)
Anybody have a used one for sale, or some example ads I can check out? What is the going price for one?
Is this expected to be a strong class at Norway this year? (I am 33/yo, 170-180lbs nekkid, 5' 8" if that helps)
What kind of towing capacity do I need in a tow vehicle for this?

I tried searching this board for "HPV", but its too short! Need a min. of 4 characters to search. *shrug*

TIA!
Collin

It doesn't for me. Nothing is worse than the Leopard vibration when you are first learning the kart. It seems to be better once you get 'fast' with the kart. Maybe we just don't notice as much?

2-cycle

WKA

Yup. HPV or KPV will be interchangable by racers for a while...

What are the other names for this class?

HPV or KPV

Not bent, etc.
Either a stiff 30, or a 32mm chassis.
Birel... :) But I really like how they tune.

I have a clean M31, MyChron 4, and fresh HPV for $3000. Pretty good setup. I'm about the same weight, and would suggest the M31. I'd run if for me, and I'm 6'2". Email me if you are interested. andy@jetkarting.com

I think it will be still. I know of at least 2 new racers in the class, and maybe 2-3 more.

Not much for the kart. Depends mostly on the trailer. We also have garage space or warehouse storage available here. Dan Schultz has a thread on the board asking for a roommate, and is a good guy.
