Must be the same but have to ask. I plan on running belts for Road racing this year. Is a 15T/75 the same regardless if your running a chain or a belt driven kart. What Im asking is if a 15/75 was good for me for a chain, will it be the same with running belts?

Thanks Jeff

It will be the same. Just make sure you don't run the belt too loose, as they will strip the teeth, and have a beer while everyone else is cleaning the chain lube off!

So if its to lose, it will strip the gears on driver, too tight, hard on the crank.

What are you looking for Andy, someone said you should be able to twist the belt 30%. How about up and down? Cant be much movement up and down if the 30% twist is right.

Is it better to run a belt than a chain for RR in your opinion? Did you use one in RR on your Sonik? Not much left right now at TS with Sonik drive belt gears. However I picked up 2 brand new 15T and a 16T for next to nothing on ekarting from a guy. What do you have left for Sonik? I may as well buy it, Im stocked up but you never know!

I used a 20mm belt if I remember right, and could turn it 90*. You run it tighter than a chain usually is, but not a lot.

I have a couple clutch packs, coil, reeds. One used motor complete with everything, and 1 in pieces. What are these things worth?

What do you have Sonik TX or VX? The VX they stopped making parts, the Tx not many parts available. Though most parts can work in both engines.

Let me know what you have left in pieces and parts. Maybe buy it as whole package for parts for myself.

Your complete engine if its a VX, might be worth more in parts than an engine. No one wants to get stuck with these now.

Let me know Andy.

Thanks Jeff

Everything I have is TX. Will have to dig it out, but won't have time this week. Racers arent' the only busy ones in the final week it seems...

Good luck keeping a 20 mm belt on a TaG kart. The guys at Blackhawk last season said they cant keep 30's on them. Run a chain and finish the race ! You pay that money to get one shot at a race. Do you want to run 5 mins and drop out and wait until the next race 1 month away ? Just buy a good O-Ring chain and go have fun. You already have all the gears for that. Whats a little cleaning ? No big deal, its just part of the deal !!!
