Summer Super Sprints at CIR

We hope you will join us for Round 1 of the Summer Super Sprint Races at Chicago Indoor Racing coming up Monday, May 14. The Super Sprints is an exciting format featuring a series of sprint races held on a rotation of tracks. Comprising of 80 total laps on either Track 3 or Track 5, the Super Sprints are sure to challenge your racing abilities as well as your endurance!


Summer Super Sprint Races – Monday, May 14
Upon being placed into 2 classes, each Driver will compete in four 20 lap Heat Races on Track 5 with a different starting position on the grid each race ranging from front to middle to back. Points will be awarded based on your finishing position in each race and utilized to determine the Winner of the Sprints each month. Sign-up for all 3 rounds of the Super Sprints, and race in the May 20th Iron Man for only $100!
Track: 5
Time: 6:15pm (arrival & check-in)
Cost: $80 per round ($60 each if you sign-up for all 3 rounds)

I'll do my best to make it to the ironman, but I've had my fill of sprint races for the time being.

I'll be racing in all three rounds of the Summer Sprints as well as the ironman this coming Sunday.

Sunday will be a very busy day with the National at Blackhawk in the morning , followed by the Norway arrive and drive in the afternoon, and ending with the ironman at CIR in the evening.

I heard there was some major blocking going on last night.

Just one guy really, but he managed to annoy a lot of people - me included. In the third race, I got a good jump on him turning on to the track 2 straight. I was beside him about a third of the way down the straight when he noticed me and started trying to push me toward the inside wall. I turned into him just enough that I could make it past the end of the wall at the end of the straight and make my left hand turn.

Others had similar experiences with the same driver.

Otherwise, the racing was good. I invited one of the new racers, Peter K., to race with us next Tuesday. He was very fast. Finished a strong second in the second heat. I also raced side-by-side with him in the third or fourth race. He did a great job.

Wow, I just looked at the results. Nice job, Peter! By the way, I got my helmet cam working just fine. I ordered a 4GB flash card on rush delivery from newegg.com so I can record all the racing sessions on Sunday.
