I was at CHMS today and met JAYKAY...

I was at CHMS getting my kart ready for my upcoming race at USAIR this Saturday. JAYKAY was renting a shifter from Phil for the day.

It was nice to meet you Rick, and I had a great time with the shifter. You were right about having to resist the urge to buy. I have never felt so bored on the way home with the Lotus. It just seems slow and lumbering by comparison. Having never driven a 2-stroke kart today was a real experience. The kart just kept pulling hard through all the gears especially on the way into the Monza curve. I was getting used to it by the last session, but the first time... :bugeye:

I would really recommend renting a kart from Phil to anybody who is lurking and thinking about getting one. Everything worked smoothly, the kart was in great shape and totally preped. All I had to do was show up and jump in.

I hope that the arrive and drive works out so we can do a little rental wheel-to-wheel.

It was very nice meeting you too Jim. I'm glad you had fun. If anyone jumps into a 2 stroke kart, especially a shifter, and does not have a reaction like this: :jawdrop::bugeye::bowdown::yay::lmao::blink::clap:

then they're probably a fighter jet pilot. It's looking like May 20th is the most popular choice for the Arrive&Drive kart race at CHMS. You should also come by on a race day and hang out with Martin, Dave, Ryan and I.
