Hornswoggler

I have wanted a go-kart for as long as I can remember. Last month, I realized this dream and picked up a used kart for outdoor sprint racing. It is a Birel M31 chassis with Rotax MAX engine.
I am racing this kart in the Rotax Senior class at Concept Haulers Motor Speedway (http://www.jetkarting.com/) in Norway, IL (west of Joliet). First race was this past Saturday, and we had 12 drivers in class.. the largest field of the day! I hope to make 7 or 8 races this year. Also fun getting to meet some fellow chicagoracers forum members!
No shortage of challenge in my rookie season. I have a lot to learn about the kart and how to get the most from it as a driver. With ~5x the power of an indoor kart, and probably twice the grip, the sensation of speed is very high. This year will be an adventure! Looking forward to it. :)
