View Full Version : Why isn't CHMS a qualified series in TAG USA for 2007?
I was reading the TAG USA webpage (http://www.tagracing.net/series.html) and it lists the CHMS series as a "qualified" series for 2006. However, CHMS is not listed for 2007. I thought CHMS was very supportive of TAG. What happened?

"Qualified" for what?
"The TaG World Finals in New Castle" ?
everybody can go to that race......they are always looking for entries.....so there is not a big deal.
As a matter of fact I can tell you that CHMS is doing great developing and growing the TAG concept.
3 years ago we were lucky if we had 3 TAG's on a race weekend.

Roberto, according the website, that's not the case. You probably know better than I do though. Maybe what's done in practice is actually different from what they state on their website. But you can see that CHMS was on the list in 2006 but they are no longer on the list for 2007.

Previous years they always opened entries to everybody.
They are looking for people to race TAG.

I'll look into it. I know they have not turned down an entry in the past. Can't imagine that changing this season. And it looks like just the "big" series are listed this season...
This may take a couple days, but I'll get an answer...

How about beating the current TaG competitors at CHMS???? We're waiting!!!:)

I would love to try. But I would need a equal equipment in order to attempt a legitimate victory. Last I checked, a setup like yours would cost around $7800. Unless someone sponsors me, I will have to continue racing you guys with my DD2. Martin, if you stop drinking for one week you could use that money to sponsor me!:clap: And no I don't want a vintage kart. I want the exact same package that you have! So that means I'll have to wait until I accumulate enough moolah. Maybe if I start to eat only slices of bread I can save enough for a TaG kart.
j/k
By the way, I paid Les for half the rent of the garage. I told him to make it a credit on your tab. See you on Saturday. :)

$7800 my bwaho. I was competitive in a decade-old kart, and, if you really want to negotiate a bet, I'll return to it, and let you drive my new one. That's not meant to belittle you, it's just meant to say that one can do well in a used kart. Let me put it another way: Dave Mickelson drove the Vintage Birel... you buy a new super chassis and engine... you won't really be laughing at Dave in the paddock, wiil you?

What's a bwaho? So why did you get a new one? Why not stick with the one that won the championship? :) Regardless, my reasoning is not that the newer kart is far superior. I want a new kart because I don't want to have to inherit any problems or quirks. An example would be intermittent electrical or ignition problems. Plus it would be nice and shiny.:)
