Everyone here is probably smart enough to always wear protective gear when karting.

I'm not sure that after "he ran up under a truck" that a helmet would have done much more than make for a more convenient clean-up. :frown:

I have a wider (taller) neck protector than most. It's from Deep Seat and also has a very secure Velcro triple-strap system. Given what happened to back, shoulder and helmet I believe it protected me from neck injury.
