Hi all,

Mark Hirt posted something a few weeks ago about the high gasoline prices in our area. To give you an idea how far out of line things are here, Saturday I paid $3.03 per gallon for BP 93 Octane in Indianapolis.

The average price for bottled water, across all brands and sizes, exceeds $8.50 per gallon.

Chicago's tap water is routinely rated among the best in the country, often on top.

Chicago's tap water routinely beats "designer" bottled waters in side-by-side taste tests.

As long as we have the wherewithall to buy $8.50/gallon water we'll buy $4.00+/gallon gasoline.

The transportation of bottled water contributes greatly to global warming and adds $1.27/gallon to the price of gasoline.**

** This is the only fact I cannot corroborate.
