In a surprising turn of events (basically I have an extra kart sitting around), ChicagoRacers has acquired driver Jim Koller (aka JAYKAY) to race the CRG DD2 in the CHMS Halloween 100 lap race. The co-driver is yet to be announced. Rumor has it that it might be Peter J or John Oyen*. Don't wad it up boys!

The other team is comprised of Martin and I. We will be racing the Birel/Leopard TAG kart. I'm pretty confident that if there is an over 21 version of the "Hotdog Race" and the Coke is substituted with 12oz scotch, we will dominate that race.

Other notable entries in the 100 lap race are:

1. Stefan and Matt Merlin or PCR/Leopard
2. Dave, Roberto, and Paul - Birel M32/Leopard
3. Zach Ply and possibly Phil Gordon - DD2?

*If Peter or John can't make it then the offer is open to anyone I consider to be a relatively clean driver who won't crash it in the Monza on the first lap. PM me if you're interested.

There will be a special 3rd party steward appointed to enforce the team's policy of equality in racing and drinking. :takecover:

Rick....I'll be racing DD2 with either Zach Ply or Phil Saville. We may just enter 2 karts and split the driving between the 3 of us. I also have another DD2 entry looking for a co-driver close to his size, about 5' 6" 145lbs. If you know of anyone have them give me a call.

Rick - I am pretty sure that Peter is going to be in California racing an SCCA regional race.

Chris Lupo, Elliot and Jen are about that size.

You guys will be quite a formidable team... But I seriously doubt you can beat us in the Hotdog & Scotch race. Who's driving? Just you and Bob? Are Dave and Paul driving too?

Any of these guys driven 2 cycle karts before?

Chris Lupo owns a 2 stroke kart. I don't think Elliot or Jen have driving a 2 stroke kart yet. Jen does have extensive experience racing snow mobiles and I think she would be able to handle the powerband of a two stroke kart. The handling, of course, is a whole different issue.

Cool....I'll be at CHMS on Thursday getting the DD2's ready for Saturday. If Chris, Jen or Elliot can make it out, I'd be more than happy to put them in the kart and see what they got.

How did testing go?

You might want to ask Jim. I only drove the DD2 for half of a lap. I think it went well from what Jim said. You guys have to remind me to bring all the jets so you can tune the engine.
