View Full Version : KF1, KF2, KF3 engines
I've been reading some things about the KF1 engine and it looks like they have 40+ HP in an engine similar to TAG engines. They are 125cc rev to about 16,000 RPM. There's probably a lot of power left in (or purposely detuned out of) TAG engines.

Its all about money. They don't leave any horsepower on the table in NHRA Top Fuel cars but the engines get rebuilt after every 8 seconds of running (if you include the burnout). Your Tag engine could probably make 60 horsepower on that rebuild interval but you would be a very unhappy person.

Both the KF1 and TAG engines claim that rebuilds are needed every ~20-25 hours.

:) Most 4AGE's are good for 100,000+ miles.
Some guy actually has a Hasselgren Toyota Atlantic 4AGE engine in his AE86 Corolla.

The new KF engines are the replacement for the FA,ICA, and JICA engines. The KZ engines are the replacement for ICC engines.
These are engines designed for racing;just because they are TaG (touch and go) does not mean they are to going to be in the TaG class.
Next year, The Stars Series is suppose to start using the KF engines in 2008.
